LEVEL UP FAST with Sonic Speed Sim Mastery!
Let's talk about Character Mastery and How to Level Up! It is a feature that allows players to level up individual characters, granting them additional stat benefits and cosmetic effects, like changing their aura!
You unlock playable Characters by completing Quests in the different Zones, redeeming Codes, getting lucky with the Legendary Spinner, or by completing Events. You can also purchase most skins, too, and you can usually find bundles so you can get several at one time! All the Characters are exclusively from the Sonic Franchise.
As of the current Halloween Begins update there are 176 playable skins, and at the moment a select few possess Character Abilities!
I found a lot of useful information on the Sonic Speed Sim Wiki page that says ALL characters will have a special ability, which is something to look forward to!
There are currently 14 abilities, and I could only find each character’s ability on that Wiki page but nowhere in the game yet, but it looks like they’re working on adding these abilities and types!

Steps are the XP each skin has tracked under the skin in the inventory screen. Each Star Level requires a different number of Steps. Steps can be gained in two ways, the first of which is running around the map.
Bonus Steps can be obtained by equipping Fast Friends, as Fast Friends have a special secondary stat that increases the number of Steps you get per step.
They can alternatively be fused into a character for a more significant boost, at the cost of that Fast Friends being lost forever.
So... How do you obtain said Fast Friends?
Speed on over to the Mastery + Evolution domain, where you can acquire and evolve Fast Friends. Using the "FAST FRIEND EVOLUTION" gizmo will help you evolve your Fast Friends, meanwhile the "FAST FRIEND VENDING MACHINE" will help you obtain said Fast Friends; in total, there are 25 Fast Friends in-game, 12 being obtainable from permanent events or Zone vendors.
However, in order to unlock the Character Mastery machine in Green Hill, players must first complete Sonic (New Yoke Style)'s quest in New Yoke City.
Currently, the machine can be found in Green Hill, and seven other zones.
The benefits of Character Mastery depend on what character you choose to upgrade.
There are four sub-categories and four secondary stats a character can have.
Character Types
XP Specialist
These characters max out at 150% XP and 75% Rings/Damage.
Rings Specialist
These characters max out at 150% Rings and 75% XP/Damage.
Damage Specialist
These characters max out at 150% damage and 75% XP/Rings.
And All-rounder
Different Character Types offer additional strengths in their abilities which can help during quests and events.
As you increase a character's Mastery level, different auras will appear around the character. As you unlock more, you'll have the option to select which aura is displayed on the character.
Team Mastery is a related stat based on the characters in a player's inventory. It adds up the Star Levels of each of your characters in your inventory and displays the resulting value at the top of the Main Menu when opened. Certain worlds are locked behind Team Mastery requirements, so it is recommended to level up a few characters before new worlds are added.
My Gothic Amy is working toward getting her steps in so she can get to the final Star Mastery Level 6 but she has a long way to go, plus I’m sure it will take a ginormous amount of red star rings, but, we’re here for it. It’s taken this long; I can work toward the final upgrade.
So good luck working toward increasing your characters Mastery Levels. I know it’s a lot of work, but it is a game, and I wouldn’t play it if I didn’t think it was fun. Look at Pumpkin Hill. How can you not want to find the roots, music notes, red star rings, and collect boos!
