What are you more likely to watch? A video that looks really nice but the sound isn’t great, or a video that sounds great but the visuals are not so good. Ideally, you want both to be great, and most viewers will forgive you for average visuals but NOT for average sound. In this video, I’m going to focus on sound design. Here are 5 Sound Design Tips that you can implement right now to instantly improve your videos.
One lesser-known tool is the surround panner and it can really help bring your sound design to life.
Pitch-shifting the same (or similar) sounds makes them different enough that they don't sound weird if they play directly after each other.
A trick I use very often to bring focus to my sound effects and sound design is to EQ the music. By removing certain frequencies you can "make space" for your sound effects to stand out.
Layering multiple sounds together to create one sound is a great way to add depth to your audio mix.
By using compound clips, you can add effects or make changes to your entire sound effects track globally, which is really helpful.
