Lesson 17 - When I discovered Tableau Bridge it was both a bright a terrifying day. Let me explain.
Prior to Tableau Bridge, I would refresh and upload each of the dashboards I was in charge of. Let's say I was in charge of 8 dashboards each taking me 1 hour each to manage. Therefore, I am capped at handling 8 dashboards a day. Should my work load increase, the number of dashboards I could handle would reduce.
What Tableau Bridge did was automate this entire process. In fact, the most I had to do was copy the raw files into the same location which took mere seconds. Then that was it!
Tableau Bridge picked up the data automatically, sent it to the Cloud automatically and would do this on schedule. Suddenly, I had no work left to do. What used to take me 8 hours to manage was now done completely automatically By 9:30 each morning my entire job function was done!
Suddenly, I had all this time and didn't know what to do with it! It called my existence at work into question, hence the "terrifying day" haha
