This is a very common problem not just in Tableau but in many other programs as well. Dates for analysts can either be your best friend or one of the most frustrating things you'll be dealing with. The main reason is date formulas can be very temperamental and need very precise inputs. You also need to consider your data types because some programs only take in strings or numbers.
In this video, I'll show you exactly how Tableau deals with dates. In particular, you'll learn:
