Washington State took back the Apple Cup with a 24-19 win over Washington on Sept. 14, 2024 at Lumen Field. The Cougs were led again by QB John Mateer who totaled 307 yards of offense and 3 TDs, including 62 rushing yards and 2 scores on the ground. Josh Meredith caught 7 passes for 111 yards and a score. Cougars' defense came up strong with a huge 4th & goal stop late in the 4th quarter.
