In this episode, we are leaving Slovakia behind and heading north to the Kiel Canal, a 98 km long freshwater canal in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. This canal is one of the most widely used in the world and is home to a vast diversity of fish species smack dab in the middle of a very urban location!
I had visited this map briefly a few weeks ago, but since that time, the developers have vastly expanded on the location, adding four more spawn points, provided access to the North Sea, and made the whole location brighter and more open in general!
There are many, many species to be found here, some freshwater, some salt water, and some in between (brackish). In this episode the following species are encountered:
Asp (A form of Predatory Carp)
European Sea Bass
European Sea Sturgeon
Sea Trout (Similar in appearance to Brown Trout)
Atlantic Salmon
Atlantic Cod
