The government has given an update on compensation payments for victims of the infected blood scandal.
Paymaster General Nick Thomas-Symonds spoke to the house and confirmed that sums of £10,000 and £15,000 - recommended to the government by Sir Robert Francis - have been accepted by the government.
He said they served as a 'marker' of 'appalling unethical medical practices' - and they would form a small part of the overall amounts expected to be paid out.
The Paymaster General said the Government is prepared to “cooperate fully” with any prosecution bids linked with the infected blood scandal.
