"Unity Is Written On The Tricolour" is a Romanian patriotic song first written to celebrate the United Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia but later rewritten during the time of Nicolae Ceaușescu to serve as a patriotic song for the Socialist Republic of Romania, commemorating the history of the Romanian people and celebrating the drive of Romania to achieve communism. "Unity Is Written On The Tricolour" was originally intended to serve as the new national anthem of the Socialist Republic of Romania however was dropped in favour of "Trei Culori" ("Three Colours") due to the melody already being used for the national anthem of the People's Socialist Republic of Albania.
