01:19 - ‘Missing Custom LUT’ Error
If you ever try to add a LUT to your footage and it looks like a total mess like this, or you open up an old project and you have this annoying red, missing custom LUT error, then this super short video is going to help you.
Let’s start by adding a Custom LUT effect to this clip, which you can find in the color category of your effects browser. In the LUT dropdown menu, head over to the “Reveal in Finder” option. This is the folder where imported LUTs will be stored. Once the folder has been organised to my liking, all I need to do is quit and Restart FCP. Now when you open up the dropdown menu on the custom LUT effect, all the LUTs are nicely organised.
If you had the red missing custom LUT error before, you can reapply the LUT now that it has been organised properly and won’t be moving from this folder.
