In this video I show you why the new Apple Fusion drive one the iMac is no good for anyone who wants to record audio through a usb interface.
You will quickly notice the popping cracking and echoing that occurs every time you try to record audio on a late 2013-2014 fusion drive iMac.
The way you can fix this problem is by actually partitioning the drive and booting up your operating system on the partition that does not have the fusion drive. Which defeats the purpose of having fusion drive.
So, if you are professional that intends to record music or videos through USB microphone or USB audio interface do not get the fusion drive. You will have issues. This was recorded in February 2014 and the problem is still there.
PS-this is the second iMac with the fusion drive that has this issue. I tried to exchange the first one thinking there was a problem with the first iMac. So out of two 2014 iMacs, Both of them have the exact same problem.
