Mallory and Seth are high school sweet hearts, well actually middle school sweethearts! It that isn't the cutest thing then I don't know what is! They travelled all the way from Tennessee to elope in the Las Vegas desert, and after a HOT AF fall wedding season, their wedding day had the first snow of 2020. The perfect twist to the endless Covid pandemic wedding rescheduling crisis they had already gone through. But even after freezing their butts off, neither of them complained the entire time. They sure were cold but the smiles never left their faces.
With the colors of the desert and the stormy skies and light snow fall, we knew this wedding edit had to be moody, cinematic, with a hint of romantic vintage vides. We all joked around that their wedding day looked more like they were eloping in Iceland than in Las Vegas!
For this film, the wind was so loud during their ceremony that we were not able to capture clear enough audio, so we had them sit in their car and warm up and read their vows one more time for the video.
We shot this video on the panasonic GH5 cameras, and paired it with the dji phantom 4 v2 drone footage. We love shooting in D-cinelike & cine-D color profile on the GH5's and phantom to really get the most out of the dynamic range, and then bring back the contrast and colors in post. And if you have watch any of our other wedding films, you know we love to throw in those filmy, grainy shots that looks and feel like super 8mm film or 16mm films. The nostalgic feel it brings to the wedding video is really a great tool for story telling and breaking up an edit.
