In this video I show you how to use Alpha Mattes in Final Cut Pro. If you’ve ever downloaded a stock clip that includes an alpha matte at the end (that black and white only version of the shot) then you can use the alpha matte to make the background transparent. With a transparent background, you’re able to overlay the shot over any other background.
Alpha Mattes are probably not something you are going to use very often but it’s a handy thing to know how to do in Final Cut Pro.
