Four-point asymmetric fracture toughness test
This video shows the evolution of strain field during fracture test using asymmetric four-point bending sample. The strain fields were measured using a 3D Digital Image Correlation system (correlated solutions). Mode I and Mode II modes of loading are controlled by the position of the upper and lower rollers supports relative to the crack plane. In the current test, Mode II is activated.
