"Sunny Distances Are Open To Us", also known simply as the "Song About Stalin", is a Soviet patriotic song about Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin. With the melody written by Matvey Blanter, who is famous for also writing the iconic song "Katyusha", and with lyrics written by Alexey Surkov in 1949, the song lost popularity after Stalin's death in 1953 with the slander and revisionist deeds brought on by Nikita Khrushchev and his conspirators.
