Once we find out that it is type 2 diabetes, the next question which arises is how severe the problem is and how much time will it take to reverse diabetes. You can find out this with the help of just a simple formula of Insulin Resistance. Insulin Resistance is equal to fasting blood sugar multiplied by fasting insulin level divided by 405.
If the value which comes is between 0.5 to 1.49, it means there is no insulin resistance and everything is normal. If the value is between 1.5 to 2.5, it means insulin resistance is moderate and diabetes may be reversed within 6 months to one year. If the value exceeds 2.5, it means insulin resistance is severe and it will take at least one year to reverse diabetes and it might take even 2 years. So lower the level of insulin resistance, sooner the diabetes can be reversed.
