Vietnam has been at the top of our travel list for so long, and this summer, we finally made it! From the incredible landscapes to the vibrant culture, this trip was a dream come true. As a family, we embarked on unforgettable adventures, explored local traditions, and had some of the best food of our lives—all with the help of our amazing travel agency, Scott Dunn, who made this experience seamless and special.
Our First Days in Hoi An Our journey started in the charming town of Hoi An, where we stayed in the coziest rental home on a picturesque rice paddy. The owner welcomed us with a meal we’ll never forget, introducing us to the delicious flavors of Vietnamese cuisine right from day one. Experiencing the warm hospitality and breathtaking beauty of Hoi An set the perfect tone for our adventure.
Exploring the Unique Tailoring Culture One of our highlights was discovering the custom tailoring in Vietnam! Jess and I had some fun designing our own outfits, with every detail crafted just for us. It was like stepping into a creator's paradise, especially for Garrett, who studied product design. Now, we have these unique outfits shipped home, just waiting for a special event. Anyone planning a wedding or gala? 😉
Six Senses Magic We couldn't believe it when we found out we were headed to Six Senses, a place we fell in love with during our time in Fiji. Located right on the beach, it felt like a paradise designed for families, with amazing kids’ activities, relaxing moments for parents, and beautiful surroundings. This was truly our “Disneyland of Vietnam.”
Cali Learns to Ride a Bike! One of the most magical moments was watching Cali learn to ride a bike. It was hard at first, but he showed so much determination and spirit, and by the end, he was riding like a pro alongside Dorothy and Manilla. We were so proud of him, and he was beaming with excitement! Definitely a memory we’ll treasure forever.
Food, Friends, and Farewell in Hanoi Our last stop in Vietnam was Hanoi, where we immersed ourselves in the local food scene with the guidance of our incredible host, Quinn. From cooking classes to food tours, we savored every dish, especially the pho! Vietnam's food, culture, and people left a huge mark on us, and we’re already dreaming of coming back.
