[My Battle video vs. SantouryuuAmvs for Screaming Diamond Studios vs Longnose Production]
I think I've surpassed myself when it comes to video layers... seriously, 20 layers, wth?! The longest video render I have had to sit through in my life (apart from rendering at uni, the comps there are hella slow!!) "Time waits for no one", I have thoroughly learnt this lesson in the making of this video, or in other words, "Time slows down to annoy you when you are waiting".
I've been thinking about making an AMV with this song and this anime video for a while. When I first heard the song, the movie sprung to mind (TGWLTT) and I started creating the basic video in my head. Unfortunately when it comes to imagination and putting into practice... you find you imagined some scenes which never happened in the anime... Uwah, my imagination runs away with me sometimes ^_^;;
I kind of came up with a different story when it came to the AMV, so don't be thinking, "Hey, she got the scenes totally messed up and wrong order from the movie!" Seriously, there is a reason behind it. The video kinda time-leaps itself, starting from almost an ending point to making a full circle and explaining what happened. The layers blend and change at points, and the colours are reflective of emotions and time. If you haven't watch the movie (shame on you...) I have officially ruined it for you with this amv XD
[The Story] - This is long and full of fluff, mind your step, or you'll lose some braincells.
Urm, so it starts off slow with the rhythmic strum of the guitar building until the video is in time with the drum beats and the steady strumming of the guitar chords becomes just an afterthought behind the main video. A basis of the relationship between two characters is built, a simple friendship.
Makoto realizes her new ability to turn back time when she somehow escapes an inevitable death by the railway tracks. She considers the reality of this abilty and tests it, little does she know that the day she graced death's doorstop, Chiaki was a witness. However, to make things worse, the simple discovery of time-leaping by Makoto leads to her seeing a future without Chiaki... so the story begins...
Makoto feels compelled to protect Chiaki, but whether it is because of friendship or something less tangible is yet to be seen. Chiaki bothers her on her strange behaviour, since he already knows she is time leaping, but she avoids his attempts at interrogation. We see a glimpse of the future... The video slows down to follow the meaning behind the words, Chiaki decides to take the initiative to show his feelings towards Makoto, causing chaos with her thoughts and emotions. She begins to think of Chiaki more.
Fast forward and the future where Chiaki has to leave is still in motion, Makoto hasn't managed to change it, yet. Makoto is in panic and time-leaps again to the past. She is starting to realize her feelings more, and writes it down. She is frightened of these new found emotions and decides to avoid Chiaki until she realizes how little time she has left with him. Chiaki tells her that he can also time leap, but has to leave soon.
With so little time left, the inevitable day arrives. Makoto fights against it, confessing her feelings, but Chiaki has already disappeared. Makoto runs, emotionally drained, remembering precious memories.
She uses up her last leap...
"[The future is] down to you dear..."
An open ending.
