Tighten Your Drums!
If you’re aiming for tight drums and more space in your mix, you might not need to reach for EQ or compression—your drums could already sound great.
Instead, try using an enveloper. Apply it to a loop or across your entire drum pattern, then lower the gain by 100%. Use the time control to shape the envelopes to achieve the desired sound.
For added creativity, you can automate the envelopes to bring even more dynamics to your mix.
