This video is all about the change to YouTube's Terms of Service and their ad policy that went into effect on 18 November 2020 in the USA and will roll out in 2021 internationally. YouTube will now be running ads on non-monetized videos (ie channels that have not yet qualified for the YouTube Partner program and have not gotten 1000 subscribers or 4000 hours of watch time yet).
In this video I go over how YouTube's new Terms of Service update might affect you as a YouTube viewer, a small YouTuber and a larger YouTuber (who is already monetized). It's true that this is a way of YouTube not paying creators and running ads on their content.
By putting ads on non-monetized videos YouTube will be able to keep 100% of that ad revenue (whereas ad revenue on channels in the YouTube Partner Program gets split with the content creator).
