Have you ever tried leather telemark boots and double camber telemark skis in a ski resort, well it's so much fun.
Over the last 3 years, I’ve skied my leather boots, riva cable bindings and Atomic 210 telemark skis… from time to time.
I really enjoy the way you can really feel every turn, almost like if you had to analyse each snow flake in order to maintain the right balance.
What really amazed me is that: I thought my modern equipment would have made me lazy, that we had changed the way of the original turn. It is not!
well in most cases.
See in general, The way we telemark today still has the same balance point, same the lead change and coordination.
In fact, that’s the exact thing that this older setup requires most. Coordination.
All the little movements count.
If you look closely, I’m doing the exact same lead change, I have the same telemark stance.
It’s harder to make a good lead change, but Once in the turn, it’s kinda suprinsly easy
If you get the chance to try an older telemark setup like this, DO IT, it’s so much fun.
