In the 'Souvenir' series, artist Hew Locke reimagines nineteenth-century Parian ware busts of British royalty, embellishing them with modern materials to critique monarchy and memorialisation. The exhibition 'Sculpting Royalty' contrasts Locke's work with Victorian sculptor Mary Thornycroft, creating a conversation on changing royal representation and colonialism's legacy.

In this film, curator Dr Clare Nadal explores the impact of showing Locke's art alongside Thornycroft’s, while Alberto Pirro, a PhD researcher, shares his insights on the display.
