You can use any wire you have. Large diameter wire will be more difficult to manipulate, but will increase the rigidity of the product
You can do the same with other stone shapes
materials I used :
Stone : 6mm ( diamond faceted shape )
Soft copper wire :
20 gauge ( wire diameter 0.8mm ) : 25cm ( 10 inch)
22 gauge ( wire diameter 0.6mm ) : 2 x 10cm ( 4 inch)
*** 22 gauge ( wire diameter 0.6mm ) has 3 uses:
easily create 4 prongs to hold the stone
loop 4 wires to create a hole in the middle, helping the stone stay in the right position
Loop 4 wires outward to help the 4 prongs be secure.
