I Witnessed The Eritrean Child Baptism Ceremony
Join me as I dive into the vibrant traditions of the Eritrean Orthodox Church, witnessing both a sacred baptism and a beautiful wedding ceremony. From the unique symbolism of placing a newborn on top of injera to the shared meals and the central role of the priest, this day was filled with rich cultural practices. I also couldn’t help but notice the striking similarities between the Eritrean and Ethiopian wedding rituals, from the songs to the traditional attire like the kemis.
