Los Angeles skies are becoming less smoggy, a clear sign that emission control strategies are working.

On the federal level, President Obama's Interagency Working Group On the Social Costs of Carbon just quietly bumped up the cost of emitting a ton of carbon to society by 60 percent, which will significantly increase the amount of carbon reduction that can be economically justified. That's a big deal, as it will force the government to properly value the social costs of the most harmful contributing component to runaway climate change.
