DANCING FOR WOMEN
We are united with everyone in the fight to end violence against women and children through the ONE BILLION RISING movement. We DANCE to express our pain, to express our protest, to give light to this harsh reality and to encourage more women to speak up. We also dance to celebrate the beauty of being a strong woman.
This is our town's 3rd year celebrating women's month this way and we pray that one day we can finally put an end to ALL forms of abuses.
"One Billion Rising is the biggest mass action to end violence against women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence) in human history. The campaign, which launched on Valentine’s Day 2012, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime.
