Pulled over under the suspicion of a DWI? You have the right to remain silent. Remember, the cop is trained to see if you're drunk, and drunk people are often very talkative (just like nervous people!). It's best to say, "Officer, I'm not going to answer any of your questions without my attorney present." Be careful, the cop will likely continue asking questions to see if you will hold true to remaining silent.

You also have the right to refuse field sobriety tests. The officer can't physically force you to do them. But, in most states, you can get your license suspended for not consenting. This could still be best if going to jail and having a DWI on your record is the other option.
