KiwiRail in Mount Maunganui and Matapihi - 07/07/2020
So after those visits from DFB's 7023 and 7322, I decided to take a break from filming trains in my local area. Incidentally (as I finished uploading this video), I realised that this is my first 'railfanning' video of July 2020.
On this cloudy/sunny/rainy (a.k.a. weird weather) Tuesday afternoon I went over to Mount Maunganui and Matapihi to film some of the afternoon trains. These were 352, 334 and 373. Also seen in this video is DSG 3249 on a shunting turn at 'The Mount'.
I was a bit puzzled to find that the alarms on the Matapihi Road crossing were not working on this day. Apparently there was an incident a couple of weeks ago when some idiot in a car smashed into a box near a crossing, which messed up the signal circuits (at least, I think that's what happened).
This will be the last real train video I upload before the Wellington trip; the dates for which I will not reveal.
