Wednesday October 16 was an exciting day, because the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's DC 4818 ventured out onto the mainline for the first time following restoration. She had a test run down to Waharoa and back (with DBR 1254 coming along as back-up), and here's hoping she'll start taking public excursions before too long.
It's unusual to see a preserved DC on the mainline while some of her classmates are still in KiwiRail service.
