Laser Marking the Heart of Steel
The Heart of Steel project uses Pryor's Portable Laser marking machine to engrave thousands of names onto the Heart of Steel. The Portable Laser will engrave 90 names in 50 seconds, with each letter measuring 0.8mm in height, to ensure 150,000 names will fit on all each of the 136 curved Inconel superalloy panels. Pryor traceability software records the panel number and column location of every name marked so each individual can locate the exact position of the inscription.
