Hello everyone! There have been unexpected updates to the 5.1 banners, and that's what we'll talk about today! We're giving away three Welkins when we reach 7,000 subscribers, we're so close, so make sure to subscribe!
Let's get started! Xilonen is already confirmed to be on the banners, as she was drip-marketed a while back, which means she's definitely going to be on the 5.1 banners. She is basically a Geo Kazuha who doesn't need to swirl an element; she does it automatically. She can also hold a set that provides a 40% damage bonus, so pairing that with the 36% resistance shred in her kit, this unit is definitely broken. I would highly suggest pulling for her.
Now, Zhongli was highly speculated to be on the 5.0 banners, but that didn't happen. He was then supposed to be on the 5.1 banners, but surprisingly, that also isn't happening. All this info comes from Hakush and is marked as reliable. New leaks suggest that Nahida is re-running instead. Nahida last had her rerun in 4.4, while Zhongli had his in 4.0. This makes it quite confusing as to why Nahida is coming back before Zhongli, but maybe it's to boost Xilonen's sales. We never can tell with Hoyo. Nonetheless, Nahida is also one of the best supports in the game, so pairing her with Xilonen is quite diabolical on Hoyo's part.
Moving on to the next character on the banner, it's Chiori. She was released back in 4.5 and hasn't had her rerun yet. Now, we know newly released characters usually get their reruns after 4 patches, with a few exceptions. So if we follow that pattern, it makes sense for Chiori to be coming back in 5.1. However, it begs the question as to why characters like Wriothesley haven't rerun yet. To give you an idea, Wrio was released in 4.1, and he won't be coming back even in 5.1, a full version later. Maybe Hoyo just has an agenda against Cryo characters since Shenhe is in a similar spot, with her last rerun being all the way back in 3.5.
As for the last character on the banner, it's Hu Tao. The funny thing about her rerun is that she reran alongside Wriothesley, and she's getting a rerun, but Wriothesley isn't. We can try to follow all the patterns we want, but at the end of the day, Hoyo cares more about sales than players' sentiment. A similar situation happened with Eula, where she didn’t rerun for a very long time, and players desperately wanted her rerun, but then when she reran, she received some of the lowest sales in Hoyo history. Hu Tao, on the other hand, is a great unit who players will pull for, not to mention her weapon, which is a great pull, especially now that weapon banners only have 1 fate point.
Anyway, to summarize, the 5.1 banners will consist of Xilonen, Chiori, Nahida, and Hu Tao. This information is marked as reliable, so it's a disappointment for those who wanted Zhongli.
