Today I'm heading to Central Square Life in Osaka, a Japanese supermarket that’s fast becoming a favourite of mine. It’s just below Nanba station and has more variety and a bit of a modern feel compared to a typical Life store. The place is usually packed, probably because I go in the evenings and it's right in the city centre, but it’s worth the trip for the great selection and quality.
I’m picking up quite a few essentials today, a "big shop", or as much as will fit in my basket. Plus some side dishes for dinner and a fresh melon pan for dessert.
After walking round, I’ll go through everything back home, checking out prices and giving a taste test of a few things for dinner.
If you’re curious about what a day-to-day shop looks like in Osaka, come along.
