Backwashing the sand filter
Turn off the pump:

Turn the filter multi-way valve to the "Backwash" position.
Turn on the pump:
Turn on the pump and let it run in the backwash mode for about 2-3 minutes, or until the water in the sight glass becomes clear.
Turn off the pump:
Turn off the pump and turn the multi-way valve to the "Rinse" position.
Turn on the pump:
Turn on the pump for 1-2 minutes to remove any remaining dirt and sediment from the filter.
Turn off the pump:
Turn off the pump and return the multi-way valve to the "Filter" position.
Start the sand filter
Check the water level:
Make sure the water level in the pool is sufficient for the pump to operate.
Fill the pump with water:
If the pump is installed above the water level, it is necessary to fill it with water manually to avoid a "dry start".
Check the sand condition:
Make sure the sand in the filter is clean and correctly packed.
Turn on the pump:
Turn on the pump in the "Filter" mode.
Check the pressure:
Make sure the pressure gauge shows normal operating pressure. Record this value for future comparison. Normal pressure is usually between 0.8 and 1.5 bar.
Control operation:
Check the water condition and the pressure gauge readings during the first hours of filter operation.
Regular Maintenance
Backwashing: Backwash the sand filter every 1-2 weeks or as needed if the pressure in the filter increases significantly.
Sand Replacement: It is recommended to replace the sand in the filter every 3-5 years to ensure effective filtration.
