I stayed at THE PARKLODGE Kamikochi. This mountain lodge locates conveniently just a 30-second walk from Kappa Bridge, the symbol of Kamikochi.
The room I stayed in this time was MUKU1, newly renovated and scented with solid Hinoki cypress. I was delighted with the perfect location to see the Azusa River from the window.
This time, we walked along the right bank of the Azusa River from Kappa-bashi Bridge to Myojin-bashi Bridge and returned to the hotel along the left bank from Myojin-bashi Bridge. The right bank trail was a little up and down, but we could enjoy the varied scenery. It was by chance that I saw a lot of Japanese monkeys sitting along the trail, which made for an exciting stroll. The left bank of the river was relatively easy to walk on, so we took it easy and enjoyed the river's murmuring and birds chirping as we walked home.
My original plan was to go to Taishoike the next day, but the rain was heavier than I had expected, so I decided to postpone the Taishoike walk to the next trip. Kamikochi is a beautiful place. I will visit here again and again.
