Southern California hit by the first tropical storm in 84 years
Tropical Storm Hilary triggered flash floods, mudslides, and power outages across Southern California, leaving at least one person dead. The storm, which was once a Category 1 hurricane, was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone as it moved northward.
