A 28-year-old chimpanzee named Vanilla was “awestruck” after she saw open sky for the first time in her life at the Save the Chimps sanctuary in Fort Pierce, Florida. Vanilla reportedly spent the first few years of her life locked in a small cage at a research lab in New York.
