When The NBA was first created there were players that were the founding fathers of this league that to this day are still immortalized within the History of the NBA.During the 60s there were guys who were the undisputed best of their era as far as talent. Bill Russell, Jerry West and Wilt were the best of their era during the 60s and they were by far the most dominant. But Bill Russell revolutionized what winning could be with the Celtics and helped build what the NBA is today. The 60s was a great starting point on what the league could be. However during the 70s there were plenty of great players with the best being Kareem Abdul-Jabaar who was the clear best player in the league. But this was an era that was the darkest time for the NBA. There was no face that made the league watchable. Which was what the NBA was sorely lacking with the viewership being down due to Tape Delay and players struggling with Drugs and Brawls within games just making the league unwatchable. And in 1979 there was a desperate need for a change and there was a need for someone to save the NBA and become the real face of the NBA. Luckily enough the NBA would be blessed with two of those guys. And the rest is history.....
