When the world-weary sophisticate Alan Squier (Leslie Howard) abruptly alters his positionary status from Seated to No Longer Seated, little choice is left to notorious renegade Duke Mantee (Humphrey Bogart) but to deliver, quite possibly, the most authoritative and potent "Sit Down, Pal" as has ever been done in recorded history. He then notes Squier's uncanny ability to talk whilst standing or sitting.
