What's your take on AI generated images? #science
Artificial Intelligence (AI) generates images through a process known as generative modeling, wherein neural networks are trained on vast datasets to learn the underlying patterns and structures of images.
One approach is Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), where two neural networks, the generator and the discriminator, engage in a competitive process. The generator creates images from random noise, aiming to produce realistic samples, while the discriminator's role is to differentiate between real and generated images.
Through iterative training, the generator improves its ability to create images that are (almost) indistinguishable from real ones, guided by feedback from the discriminator.
A photographer was recently refusing a prestigious award after admitting to being a “cheeky monkey” and generating the prize-winning image using artificial intelligence.
