Maxim Shevchenko: The future of Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Russia - analysis of Tokayev’s article
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev published an article “Renaissance of Central Asia: On the Path to Sustainable Development and Prosperity,” in which he listed the region’s achievements over the years of independence and called for consolidating efforts to develop common mechanisms in the field of economics and security. Tokayev also proposed that the Central Asian countries form a special identity. The publication of the material was timed to coincide with the meeting of the leaders of Central Asian countries with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Historian, journalist Elmar Huseynov and politician Maxim Shevchenko discussed the significance of the article, the processes taking place in the region today, and Russia’s cooperation with the Turkic world. “Boiling Point” is a special project of Vestnik Kavkaza.
