Mixing Kick Drum - Kick Drum Tuning Trick | Mixing Tips

Hi all,
For today's tip, we have one really unusual tuning kick trick that might or might not work in some cases. This is a trick where you are changing the root frequency of the kick by tuning it to the 5th note higher or in a total of 7 semitones +. As we said, this should be done only where your kick is not in tune with your song, then you need to search for the right note, or when your kick and bass occupy the same frequencies, so for the sake of demasking.
In this video, we show how you can do this process in Cubase, but this works all the time in every DAW, so you will be clear on that side. For this kick tuning trick, we picked a plugin from Waves, but even with your DAW audio process of repitching, you will be able to do it. It all depends on the algorithm of the process by the DAW. We weren't satisfied with how it came out with the Cubase process, so we picked the plugin from Waves to go for the tuning of the kick.
