Bass Layering - How to EQ Bass Layers | Mixing Tips
A necessary part of any mix is the Low Frequencies and its Bass Layers. Getting that sounding strong, having a punch to it, and produce out a lush bassline is the important thing to an epic track. Mixing all of the Bass Components can also be one of the hardest issues to solve. The first key in understanding the low-end of your track is to know there are multiple layers to your bass.
There are a number of layers and frequencies that make up a very good bass. The best way they move together and work together along with your different elements is what will make the bass really punch through, or be a murky mess. A bass can have a click on on it, a warm mid-range, a synthy high end, or more. In this video, you will be able to see how we separated the bass into three different stems and how we EQ them as well.
