Update 7.2 to Star Wars The Old Republic lands on December 13th 2022. Here are the major changes you don't want to miss out on if you plan to spend time In a Galaxy Far Far Away.
RUHNUK
The Mandalorian Civil War story arc features a showdown between Heta Kol and Shae Vizla on Ruhnuk and finally brings it together with the Malgus and Sa'har Kateen storyline.
Ruhnuk is a mostly dry and arid world, scratched by giant canyons. Its original inhabitants were miners seeking to exploit the planet's natural resources. They mysteriously abandoned the planet, leaving all their equipment behind.
Ruhnuk contains a daily area with solo and group daily and weekly missions available. There are also non-repeatable Relic Hunt Missions, which grant you unique buffs while you are on the planet and are a requirement for the new Datacron available in the Daily Area.
PVP CHANGES
The 3 existing PvP queues (unranked, solo ranked, and group ranked) are getting consolidated into 2 new queues, for 8v8 warzones and 4v4 arenas.
The newly released PvP Seasons system functions in a very similar way to the Galactic Seasons system. You participate in PvP activities and earn PvP points which gain you levels. Each season consists of 25 levels.
The limitation for free-to-play players is removed and now everyone can participate in Warzones and Arenas. Subscribers have access to more PvP Season objectives and earn PvP points faster.
The Onderon Palatial Ruins is a new 4v4 Arena map, also available with the release of 7.2.
MAP AND UI CHANGES
With 7.0 BioWare started what seems to be a long and slow process of UI redesign. With 7.2 we get a great new extremely customizable overlay style for the map that gives you a larger version of the map than what is offered by the minimap without all the obtrusive interface elements from the map window.
Since the new mini-map removes the buttons surrounding it in its classic format, BioWare opted to create a customizable utility bar for all those buttons and did the same for that top bar that toggles the welcome window, shows online status information, and whether you have mail.
In an admirable effort to be more inclusive, the developers are introducing three new Colorblind modes, accessible through the Graphics tab in the main game menu.
BALANCE AND GEARING CHANGES
The usual set of Combat Style Balance and Gearing Changes also accompany this update.
7.2 will contain some balance changes, primarily small buffs for tanks and some mixed adjustments for all Marauders / Sentinel disciplines.
Meanwhile, the iRating for all non-R4 PvE gear (Decurion, Tionese, Columi, Rakata) will have a new ceiling of 336 while Thyrsian (PvP) will have its iRating ceiling raised to 332. Hyde and Zeek will also sell 332 and 336 mods.
The floor for PvE gear will be raised to 324 while the floor for PvP gear will be raised to 322 so that gearing doesn’t take any longer than it does now.
HOLIDAY IN-GAME EVENTS
Life Day launches on December 13th, together with the patch. A week later, on December 20th, for a full week, we will get everybody's favorite Double XP event.
