Chapter 1: The Call to Lead and Conquer
Following the death of Moses, God appoints Joshua as Israel's new leader, charging him to lead the people across the Jordan River into the Promised Land. God encourages Joshua to be strong and courageous, assuring him of His constant presence and the inheritance of the land promised to the Israelites. Joshua is commanded to follow the law given through Moses, meditating on it day and night, so he may succeed in all his endeavors. With these promises and commands, Joshua prepares the people for the journey, rallying the tribes to stand united in faith and action.
