This is the scariest part of the Kerbal Space Program 1.0 series to date for me: can my ship in fact survive aerocapture in Duna. Before it would be easy, but now there are some questions to be asked. Is the atmosphere truly thin enough (1/5 of Kerbin's) to survive without heat shields? Will my approach be so low that I get caught in Duna's gravity well and crash to the surface? Will my processor survive the calculations of so many parts catching on fire all at once?
These and more will be explored today as we hopefully get ourselves in orbit around Duna so we can start knocking out contracts. For your sanity, just know that this episode contains both live and post commentary. You'll see why.
