Incomplete information on the inheritance of traits may lead to false conclusions about paternity or the swapping of babies in the hospital. So before jumping to conclusions or making false accusations, we should learn that inheritance is more complex than Mendel thought. In this video, we look at one cause of unexpected phenotypes in the progeny: epistasis. This video explains; recessive epistasis, dominant epistasis, double recessive epistasis, and modification of the Mendelian dihybrid ratio. The later section of the video includes questions to test understanding.
