Switched Mode Power Supply - SMPS
It is an electronic device that converts power using switching devices that are turned on and off at high frequencies.
The input voltage form AC mains is directly rectified and filtered using a capacitor
The unregulated DC voltage across the capacitor is then given to a high frequency
DC to DC convertor which converts it into a regulated DC voltage.
SMPS Cables and Connectors Description
10*2 Pin ATX Connector
It supplies power to the motherboard and other components like RAM, Graphics cards etc.
CPU 4 Pin Connector
It is a 12 Volt connector that supplies power to the CPU
SATA Power Connector
The SATA power connectors supplies power to the Hardisk, DVD Drive
Peripheral 4 Pin Molex Connector
It is used to provide power to the FANS, Case lights etc
