A take on the stories and myths of tree nymphs: spirits and sprites that inhabit and are linked to trees, often times represented as a young girl or maiden. Found all over European folklore, they are known as Dryads, faes/fairies, elfs, land sprites, pixies, and, generally, nymphs, and, generally, tree spirits. They have been repopularized by British Victorian writing, later with C. S. Lewis' Dryads and J. R. R. Tolkien’s Ents.
