My first time driving a manual Ferrari F430 and it did not disappoint! This car was always a poster car on my wall ever since my dad and I saw one at a car show when I was little. I've never had to drive a Ferrari until today, and it just so happened to be my favorite mid-engined Ferrari AND with the very rare manual option (funnily enough that was the cheap option back in the day so no one wanted it lol).
Handling wise, the hydraulic steering felt great- even better than some modern supercars I've driven, but the rack speed was kinda slow for my tastes. The clutch was fairly light and the pedals well-positioned for heel-toe downshifts.
The one thing I struggled with was the gated shifter. While the gates should make things very tactile, the throw of the shifter made me struggle to find the right gears. With some miles, I got used to it, but this is a very different vibe from short throw shifters you find in let's say GT Porche's these days!
Does anyone else agree that this is PEAK FERRARI?!?
