Here's how you defend with a bad kart... ⬇️
I'm with my friends James and Art, and it's my turn to try out the bad kart of the bunch. Not only did this particular kart have poor top-end power, but it had absolutely 0 front grip.
So here's how I fixed it... (the best I could)
1. I purposely locked up the rear brakes to induce oversteer on corner entries. This helped rotate the kart and help me get on power earlier (minimizing the front tire induced balance issue)
2. I defended like a mad man giving no space for anyone to go up the inside. Then to prevent them from getting the switchback, I always made sure to over-slow at the apex to check up the karts behind. This is called "stopping at the apex," and it's one of the most common and effective defensive techniques in racing.
