You've heard of it before but you might have heard it called a lot of different things, the Blake Snyder Beat Sheet (the original name), the 15 Beat Plot Structure, Save The Cat (the book that contained the structure), and other variations of those, and now, of course, we have Save the Cat Writes a Novel.

I'm here to give you some info on the beat sheet as well as to break down each stage, including the five-beat finale (Storming the Castle). I use How To Train Your Dragon 1 and The Hunger Games (the book with visuals from the movies) as examples to help clarify every stage.
